Kristopher's Bio

Kristopher Monroe

About me:

I've been writing for Tablet for almost three years now and am currently acting as arts editor, as well as trying to score as many freelance gigs as possible. (All offers considered.) I'm also writing for SOMA, Beautiful/Decay and RE:UP. Pick up copies at your local bookstore, they're all super dope magazines. I've also written in the past for Resonance, Chunklet and The Organ, among others, and I've got some very short fiction coming up in Word Riot (check it out at wordriot.org). If you're a publisher with more money than you know what to do with, feel free to get in touch. We'll talk. (especially if you're buying the drinks!) I'm really damn sick of holding down a day job at this point. I love film. It's the perfect artistic medium to me. My education in cinema came mostly from working as a projectionist at an independent theater in Atlanta, where we all consumed lots of drugs, debated art and literature and watched more movies than I can remember, which, incidentally, may have been due to the drugs. I dunno. Whatever the case, I'm very much looking forward to this years crop of films. Let the good times roll!

How come you left out the CLEAR credits in your SIFFBLOG bio? I enjoyed All Fired Up and the basico articles. Who manufactures the hanging lights in the All Fired Up photo? I can't find those lights at Sieger or Ritzenhoff sites.

Ha. I actually live in NY now and since this bio was posted, I've been writing for tons of other magazines as well (RES, Swindle, Metro.Pop, Elemental, Flux, NY Press, Publishers Weekly, etc.) The hanging lights shown with that piece are actually a layout mistake. Neither Sieger or Ritzenhoff make them. It's actually pretty embarrassing, but fortunately not my fault. I'm not sure who makes 'em, but look for a correction in the next issue...
