"Just wanted to say hello and see if you may be interested in mentioning our 12-Hour Movie Marathon to your readers? We'd love to partner with you to promote this vital SIFF fundraiser as we gear up for our 2010 Festival! This fundraiser will ensure the successful launch of our 2010 Festival as well as enable SIFF Cinema to maintain its legacy of bringing diverse perspectives and human experiences from around the world to Seattle filmgoers. For full event details visit our site here.
This Marathon features essential films for the local Seattle cinephile, including Renee Zellweger's breakthrough role in The Whole Wide World, Nicole Kidman's award-winning performance in Gus Van Sant's To Die For, Mel Gibson's post-apocalyptic cult-classic Road Warrior, the Coen Brothers' directorial debut Blood Simple, the award-winning Dutch noir The Fourth Man, and acclaimed director Alan Rudolph's Seattle-based Trouble in Mind.
The 12-hour marathon will take place at SIFF Cinema on Sunday, March 21, from 10am to 10pm. The Marathon will host two acclaimed filmmaking guests with local connections: SIFF co-founder and filmmaker Dan Ireland will be in attendance to present an exclusive viewing of the director's cut of his film, The Whole Wide World, as well as filmmaker Alan Rudolph who will be introducing his Seattle-based film, Trouble in Mind. Both films will be presented in their original 35mm format.
The day will begin at 9:00am with a breakfast at Seattle Center's Alki Room and will feature special guest Dan Ireland. All Marathon participants are invited to attend this complimentary breakfast before the films begin at 10:00am at SIFF Cinema.
There are two easy ways to participate! Simply purchase a ticket at one of the following levels, or collect donations from your friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor you at the level you wish to participate.
