The Lost City

mike whybark

As Spence and I listened to Dennis James introduce The Ten Commandments at The Paramount this afternoon, I was amused when Dennis quoted David Jeffers' long and wonderful essay on the film that he published earlier this week on SIFFblog.

This bemusement turned to pleasure when Dennis in turn introduced David on stage to do the expert intro to the film.

Thanks Mike, for not throwing me out on my ass when I crashed the blog last May.
I sat next to a woman and her teenage daughter at one of the Buster Keaton films last summer. I overheard the youngster exclaim how much she loved Snitz Edwards! What a warm and fuzzy feeling to see how these films continue to attract new generations of filmgoers. We are fortunate.
Dennis will play the original film score for Carmen on Sunday, based on the Bizet. It's my favorite of the three in this series.
