Godzilla: Final Wars

David Jeffers

Saturday May 28, 3:30pm Neptune Theater

Everything I've come to expect from the genre sprang to life in this one, goofy monsters, bizarre flying craft, hokey effects, broken up by bad dialogue and
hopeless corn.
Exuberant in it's own silliness and great fun. The audience loved it. When Mothra finally made an appearance two thirds of the way through the picture the
crowd went nuts. The alien monster morphing into a three headed hydra was the best part. I passed a young Japanese family leaving the theater, Mother,
Father and two boys about eight and ten. As they walked down the sidewalk holding hands, the eight year old gleefully recounted his favorite scenes with
youthful enthusiasm, his feet barely touching the ground. Now that's what Godzilla is all about!

I am told the three headed hydra is yet another from the Toho lexicon, Ghidrah the Three Headed Monster, 1964.
