Celebrity Sighting

So I went to see "The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi" last night by director Takeshi "beat" Kitano. It was full of blood and action, more than a few funny scenes and a musical number at the end. I sat on the outside edge since there were so many people and no good seats were left, but the screen is so big at the Cinerama that it really doesn't matter. About 15 minutes after the film had already begun, somone quickly, but quietly slipped in and sat in the seat right next to me on the end of the row on the outside edge. I was thinking to myself that it was pretty rude of them to come in so late and was irritated that they had to pick a seat right next to mine when I looked over and saw none other than Drew-fucking-Barrymore!
Damn, I thought. I figured she had left the week previous when she apparently left the "Donie Darko" screening early and was a no-show at the party. She registered a perturbed look when I glanced over--not wanting to be recognized I'm sure--so I tried to play it off and ignore her for the next, oh, five minutes. After that I nonchalantly nudged her elbow and offered her a sip of the flask I had brought in with me. It was probably the vodka that made me do it, but I didn't realize how gauche that was until later, and I had completely forgotten that she had gone through rehab and didn't know if she still drank or not. Much to my surprise, she smiled slightly and took a little swig, wincing when the liquor hit her mouth. She didn't ask for another sip after that and I didn't offer, but I like to think we shared a little comaraderie durring that fine flick.
HA! Just kidding. I was working Friday night and never went to the Cinerama. I did see "The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi" at a press screening though and it's damn good, but I never shared a drink with Drew Barrymore. Sorry. I don't even like to drink at movies. It's too hard to concentrate. Sometimes weed is good though.

Yeah, me too. I've been wanting to accost her ever since I knew she was going to be in town, so I figured I'd fantasize in print. Besides, no one's reading this anyway... (ahem, that means you should post if you are reading...)
